We have four newly-created positions available. Positions are funded in full or in part by the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) funds which is funded in total by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The CPPW project and related positions are funded for two (2) years.

Youth and Outreach Program Coordinator
Community Food Advocates is seeking a program coordinator for our youth program which aims to educate Nashville youth on food justice, food access and food policy; engage youth in healthy food advocacy; and empower youth to be active participants in our Healthy Corner Store, Community Garden, and Food Policy Council programs. This position will also work with program staff to support outreach and volunteer activities for the three programs.

Healthy Corner Store Program Coordinator
Community Food Advocates is seeking an experienced candidate to lead an initiative aimed at increasing the supply of healthy foods in low-income neighborhoods and promoting the purchase of healthy foods by engaging corner and convenience store owners and community residents in leading store-based food access and nutrition interventions.

Community Garden Program Coordinator
Community Food Advocates is seeking an experienced community garden and urban agriculture specialist to provide technical assistance, educational programming, and capacity building support for community gardens, urban farms, and school and faith-based gardens in Nashville.

Administrative Director
Community Food Advocates is seeking an experienced non-profit professional to provide program, financial, and administrative oversight for three of the organization’s program areas (Healthy Corner Store, Food Policy Council, and Community Garden). The position will also provide financial management support for the organization as a whole.

We are actively looking to hire qualified individuals for three regionally distinct positions that will work directly in developing and maintaining partnerships, programs and projects in the Appalachia region, the Mississippi River Delta region and the Southwestern USA/Northern Mexico region.

APPPA Grit (American Pastured Poultry Producers Association)

The individual in this position is responsible for producing a quality, regular publication on issues of deep interest to our membership and the pastured poultry industry.
The American Pastured Poultry Producers Association is a membership organization of 500+ members from throughout the US. We are a virtual organization, started in 1997 and managed by a 9 member board of directors. To date there has been one part time contract worker, who manages the organization through an 800 phone number and PO Box in Wisconsin. We offer six 20-page newsletters per year, a website and an online private electronic listserve. We also sell a book, "Raising Poultry on Pasture", that was produced in 2007 from articles previously printed in the GRIT.
We are hiring an additional contract worker to produce the bi-monthly GRIT newsletter, which is in its 58th issue as of July 2010.
